This web-based meet-up will promote awareness of Michigan's Safe Delivery of Newborns Law, and include and overview of the law, procedures, and legal protections afforded to fathers.

This interactive web-based meet-up is intended for jurists, court staff, attorneys, and adoption agency employees. Participants will be able to ask live questions of the presenters and each other through this web-based training platform. SCAO-CWS will provide registrants with training materials prior to the meet-up.

The Child Welfare Services (CWS) department is part of the Michigan State Court Administrative Office (SCAO). CWS provides assistance to circuit court family divisions on child welfare matters, including child protective proceedings, foster care, adoption, termination of parental rights, permanency outcomes, and data collection and analysis. CWS administers the Michigan Court Improvement Program (CIP), the Foster Care Review Board Program (FCRB), and the training program for the Governor’s Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect. CWS provides numerous multi-disciplinary trainings each year on a variety of child welfare issues.
