- 6/21/24 - MIBBB Film & BOOTS! Dance Party @ Harper Studios, Des Moines. 7:00-11:00 p.m. Curated short films from around the world to get your "X-Files" vibe on. Ticket includes both MIBBB Film Fest AND the amazing Harper Studios after-party with Seattle's very own BOOTS! go-go party dancers (think: mirror ball, music, dancing, beverages)! - 6/23/24 - MIBBB Games @ Waterland Arcade, Des Moines. 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The Official Men In Black Birthday Bash Debrief, with over 50 classic arcade games, a space-themed soundtrack, and over 40 ice cold craft beers and ciders. - 6/9/24 - Maury Island Incident Guided Walking Tour. Hosted by Steve Edmiston. An easy 0.8 mile (one way)walk where you'll hear the whole story. Leaves at 12:00 noon, dress for weather! Why the fuss?
On June 22, 1947, one day after Harold Dahl saw six flying discs of Maury Island, Washington, he encountered history’s first alleged “men in black.” And unknowingly launched a mythological and pop culture juggernaut we all know today. So, each year, on the anniversary of the first “men in black” warning, MIBBB Fest celebrates the event - in “black-and-white” - on the shores of Puget Sound, in the sunset shadow of Maury Island.
