Mi Hermano

DOQUMENTA is a non-profit civil organisation founded in 2012. It is committed to promoting the production, exhibition, and distribution of documentary films, with a focus on Latin-American stories. Every year, DOQUMENTA produces an International Documentary Film Festival in the city of Queretaro, Mexico.This year, for the first time, a curated selection of DOQUMENTA’s 2018 national program will be screened across a three day showcase at Testing grounds, here in Melbourne. This is a free public event, dedicated to broadening the scope of Latin-American film in Melbourne, in an artistic and accessible setting. From the 28th to 30th of March come experience the power of documentary to transform your view of the world and the unique narratives within it.

Alexey was born in Russia and adopted by Gabriela, an unmarried woman. Later, Gabriela and Alexey adopted Mateo, another child from Siberia. Over the course of nine years, Alexey and Mateo demonstrate what it means to build bonds of reciprocal trust despite the internal conflicts they face. 
Movies do not have an Australian classification, discretion is advised.
