About this event

Join our growing, tight-knit community in our weekly classes. You'll get a step-by-step approach to learning metalsmithing, from sawing and sanding to soldering and setting stones in a warm, supportive evinronment. Over the course of six sessions, you will learn esstential metalsmithing skills and make saw-cut, soldered, and stone-set pieces of jewelry. With class sizes kept at 5 students, everyone can go at their own pace with lots of personal attention.

Where will the workshop be held?

CJAS is located in Mid-City LA. Exact location will be provided upon registration

Do I need any metalsmithing experience?

Nope! This class is designed for beginners. Those with a bit more experience are welcome, too. All projects can be adjusted to your skill level. Students are invited to keep enrolling in weekly classes, even as they move up from Beginning to Intermediate levels

Do I have to sign up for all sessions?

Yep. This is a 6-week course

How much does is cost?

Cost is $635 to register. A materials fee will be collected for a kit of silver and silver solder that you will be given at the beginning of the session. A tool kit list will be sent before the class begins, with the option of purchasing the tools through CJAS or bringing your own

What kind of metal will we use?

We will be working with .980 and sterling silver

What about parking?

There is plenty of free street parking

What do I need to bring with me?

Participants will need to bring their own hand tools. A tools list will be sent before the start of the class. You will have the option of purchasing tools through the CJAS website or buying them on your own

Will I have to sign a waiver?

Yes. All students at CJAS are required to sign a waiver
