8-Week Workshop

Date: Tuesdays, June 4-July 23, 2024

Time: 6pm-9pm

Description: Learn to design and construct your own jewelry. You will be introduced to a range of metalsmithing basics as you create a pierced pendant, ring, and cold connection necklace. This is a great way to get a taste of jewelry and metalsmithing. In this 8-week workshop, you will learn:

  • Basic metalsmithing skills of sawing, piercing, filing and sanding
  • Basic cold connections of flush, flat, and tube rivets
  • How to use a torch to anneal and solder metal
  • Patinas and metal finishing options
  • Elements and principles of design

Tuition: $265 + $40 materials fee

Materials: All materials will be provided

Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.

ANY WORKSHOP OR INDIVIDUAL SESSION CANCELLATIONS WILL BE COMMUNICATED VIA EMAIL.

Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.

About the Artist

Stacy Rodgers is a studio jeweler living in Pittsburgh, PA. She received her BFA in Metalsmithing/Jewelry from the University of Kansas in 2007. Stacy creates limited-production and one-of-a-kind hand-pierced jewelry inspired by the intricate lines and negative shapes that reside within organic life. She sells her work at craft shows and galleries both locally and nationally. She was a finalist in the 2018 LEAP Awards and was a Top 5 finalist in 2017 and 2018 Halstead Grant Competition.
