About this event

The Healthy Lee Behavioral Health Coalition created this conference to recognize and celebrate our frontline workers, while opening a dialogue that allows us, as a community, to explore ways to ease the mental and behavioral health challenges within these professions and our community as a whole. Here is the exciting lineup of speakers for this one of a kind event.

Keynote speaker: Nicole Navega, EMS Crew Support, Fort Myers Public Safety Office. Ms. Navega will discuss the history, present and future roles of frontline workers and the mental and behavioral health challenges their professions pose. She will also facilitate a dialogue with leadership from different industries to explore opportunities to improve training and support services regarding secondary traumatic stress.

Panel discussion: Frontline workers who will share their experiences with trauma and PTSD. Participants will also discuss their ongoing challenges and celebrate their victories.

Building Organizational Resilience: Law enforcement veterans Bill Mazur and Joe Collins will co-present on the current status of mental and behavioral health challenges facing our frontline heroes, and conclude with relevant tactics for how frontline worker agencies can improve their employees' mental and behavioral health offerings.

Closing remarks: Benjamin Abes, Director, Public Safety, Emergency Response and Communications, will close the event with an inspirational message on where we go from here.

This educational and insightful event will offer networking opportunities for participants who wish to speak with the presenters, organizational leaders, various social agencies, peer support group specialists, and representatives from many other community resources.
