This opportunity for 3.5 CEUs is available for ALL licensed mental health professionals to explore the post-pandemic therapeutic mental health needs of women. Specifically, participants will learn about the increase in psychological symptoms, including stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as decreases in self-care post-pandemic.


Participants will be able to identify signs and symptoms of psychological distress in various groups of women, including women of color and transwomen. Additionally, participants will understand and practice the application of current, evidence-based treatment interventions to effectively address mental health challenges with women using case scenarios.

About Dr. Wanzer


Dr. Veronica M. Wanzer, aka, Dr. V, a native New Yorker, has served as a counselor

and clinical supervisor in Maryland for over 13 years. Dr. V graduated with a doctoral

degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University. Her

dissertation focused on counselor competence with gender-diverse clients.

Immediately following graduation, she continued her journey as a counselor educator

teaching in both Online and traditional master ’s-level counseling programs across the

country, engaging with counseling students worldwide! Specifically, participants will learn

about the increase in psychological symptoms, including stress, anxiety, and depression, as

well as decreases in self-care post-pandemic.


Dr. V’s research interests include social justice, counselor competence, professional

identity, and decolonizing mental health in marginalized communities. To share this

work, Dr. V presents at various counseling and interdisciplinary conferences yearly.

She is engaged in various innovative research, social change projects, and publication

efforts focused on social change and counseling at both domestic and international

levels. In 2021, Dr. V published her first peer-reviewed article in the Journal of

LGBTQ Issues in Counseling.

Dr. Shauna Moore Reynolds, Ed.D., LCPC-S, LPC, NCC, ACS is an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Education, a former Associate Professor at Loyola University of Maryland in the Department of Pastoral Counseling and the owner of SMR Counseling Services. Dr. Reynolds holds a doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Texas Southern University, and has two private practice locations that provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families in crisis with a focus on anxiety, depression and posttraumatic stress. Dr. Reynolds' past experience includes positions with Texas Department of Protective Services, The District of Columbia Attorney General's Office, The United States Attorney's Office and The Department of Justice.
