About this event

  • 2 hours

Mental Health Matters - Evansville marks Mental Health Awareness Month (May) AND our third year of community mental health forums with a townhall that brings voices from across generations, across this city, and beyond. "The City We Are Becoming" will highlight the rich cultural gifts and narratives brought to the River City by our growing population of New Americans. We will create spaces for shared stories from Haitian, Marshallese, and Latino/a neighbors and friends and the common and unique ways different families and traditions cope with mental health challenges. Challenges like trauma, grief, and recovery. As always, we will have a space reserved by and for youth as well. Look forward to dynamic speakers but even more powerfully, dynamic listening as community members share what it is to "walk in my shoes." This event is FREE, and lunch is included! CHECK-IN begins at NOON. Program starts at 1pm SHARP.
