Become a Mental Health First Aider!

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is skills based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges until professional assistance is obtained or the crisis is resolved.

This course requires 2 hours of self-paced content followed by 5.5 hours of instructor-led virtual training. It is valued at $170 and by the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Describe the purpose of Mental Health First Aid and the role of the Mental Health First Aider.

• Evaluate the impact of early intervention on mental health challenges.

• Recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges that may impact adults.

• Explain that recovery from a mental health challenge is possible.

• Explain, choose, and apply the appropriate steps of the 5 step Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE) when a person is in a crisis or non-crisis situation.


Registration process:

Upon full registration and payment, you will be sent an invite to the course page. Once you accept the invitation, you will be enrolled in the course within 24 hrs. You must complete your self-paced 2 hour pre-work by midnight of the day before the live virtual course.
