You will know about CLIC24, Europe's first 24 hour charity mountain bike event. With your help we raised over £1/3 million for charity through ten years of annual 24 hour mountain biking. Well, we are back... in 2017... as Mendip24.
Over the weekend of 13/14 May 2017 we will be based at Mendips Raceway, an amazing location with full event facilities - free family camping from Friday to Sunday, great home-prepared food, fully stocked bar, live music and that renowned Mendip24 vibe.
There is a brand new course which includes forest sections, climbs, singletrack and breath-taking views. The course and camping alone are worth more than your entry fee and of course the profits from your entry registration and sponsorship you collect and donate, all go to charity.
Under the new management of Wrington Vale Rotary Club with guidance behind the scenes from the original CLIC24 crew and with sponsorship from Thatchers Cider, this year we will be raising money for new charities. All profits from Mendip24 are in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and other charities supported by Rotary Club.
All events like this benefit from early registrations so, if you haven’t quite got around to registering for Mendip24 yet, we thought we might tempt you with some attractive incentives.
• Register by midnight on Sunday March 5th and, in association with Thatchers Cider, we will give you a welcome pack of goodies including vouchers to use at the bar! You will also be entered into a draw for a £50 MTB equipment / accessories voucher redeemable at a well-known chain of bik...e shops. And, if that’s not enough, you will be at the head of the pack with a priority starting place. Obviously, everyone already registered will also receive all these incentives with our compliments!
• Register after March 5th but before midnight on Sunday March 19th and you will miss out on the goodies bag but you will still be entered into the draw for the a £50 voucher and be eligible for a priority starting place
• Register after March 19th but before midnight on Sunday March 26th and you will miss out on the goodies bag and the draw for the £50 voucher but you will still be eligible for a priority starting place.
So, unless you are planning to ride solo (in which case why haven’t you already registered!) there is no better time than now to get together with your riding buddies and get organised. This year’s event will have Pairs and Team categories (2 and 3-4 riders respectively.)
