Memphis Matters returns to our home at TheatreSouth for an evening  of storytelling, music, ritual and fellowship.

Playback Memphis invites you to return to our beloved home space TheatreSouth, for an evening of storytelling. This will be our first performance back in the black box theatre since the pandemic began. Whether you need to shake off the isolation of the pandemic or nurture community connection and well being in your life, this show is for YOU! The concept of a Playback performance is simple — an audience member shares a reflection, moment, or true story from their lives and then watches that story played back on stage by a team of professional actors, musicians, and dancers. We find this simple act of listening to be life giving. And here’s what audience members are saying.…“Witnessing these performances is the most powerful self-care I’ve ever experienced. Performances draw a multi-generational audience, an amazingly, diverse cross-sector of the community.Don’t have a story to tell? Feel free to participate or simply sit back and watch the magic unfold. Playback unlocks healing, transformation, and joy— one story at a time.Money should not be a barrier for participation. Tickets are offered on a sliding scale from $10 - $30. Please reach out to Braden Hixson at Braden@playbackmemphis.org if you cannot afford the ticketing fee. Ticket sales help support our actors in the professional ensemble.
