Memory, Monuments, Materiality • Bowden Fellows 2026

IPC ArtSpace March 2026

Travel so often inspires reflection and plants the seeds of memory. Memory, Monuments, Materiality narrates the journeys around the globe taken by the artists in this show -- from Peru to Columbia, Washington DC to Paris, the Adirondacks to the lands of Croatia; one embarks on a journey deep inside himself. Their collective journey reminds us of what it means to be human and challenges us to consider where memory resides.

Memory, Monuments, Materiality reminds us of the layered resonances between individual paths and the collective human story. How do we – as humans – remember wars, revolutions genocides, individual heroes and national struggles; how do we forgive and rebuild; how do we recall those closest to us once they are gone? These are the questions explored in this show taken from the research of the 2026 Bowden Fellows at Ransom Everglades School.
