Join the California Museum on Saturday, June 15, 2024 for "Meeting of the Music," a celebration of California guitar history and culture in honor of our newest exhibit, "America at the Crossroads: The Guitar and a Changing Nation" (now open!). Bring your dad, a grad, or a music lover in your life and relax into Father's Day weekend with live music, beer, guitar-themed crafts, and a presentation by Santa Cruz Guitar Company.

Activities include:

  • Performances by guitarists Michael Sallstrom, Dinorah Klinger, Ian Santillano
  • Music from DJ Tiny
  • Beer for purchase (discounted for Museum members!)
  • Pizza from Chavious pop-up for purchase
  • Guitar-themed crafts, including make-your-own guitar picks and kids' coloring sheets. Create a custom a guitar pick with a printed image of someone or something you love - see the picture below for examples! You can bring your own photo (1”X1”) or we can print one in black and white at the Museum for you.
  • Guitar-making demo by Santa Cruz Guitar Company
  • Docent-led tours of "America at the Crossroads"

Tickets: In celebration of Father’s Day, we’re offering $5 reduced admission for guests 13+ and free admission for members and kids 12 and under. Admission provides access to the event and the museum galleries. Advance registration recommended.

What is the cancellation policy?

Tickets may be refunded, minus Eventbrite fees, until 12:00 pm on June 14 by requesting a refund through an Eventbrite account.

Where can I park?

The Bonderson Garage is directly across the street from the Museum on the corner of 10th & O Streets and offers a $3 flat rate on Saturdays (cash or credit card). Metered street parking is available on streets surrounding the Museum.

Is there bicycle parking?

A limited amount of bicycle parking is available around the building and across the street. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

What about public transportation?

The Museum is located at the Archives Plaza stop of Regional Transit’s Light Rail and a convenient transportation option for the event. For more information on routes, schedules and fares, visit: http://www.sacrt.com.

What time can I check in?

Check-in starts at 12:00 pm.

I lost my tickets. What can I do?

To look up your order or retrieve your tickets, visit https://eventbrite.com/gettickets and enter the email address used to place the order.

Do I need to bring a printed copy of my ticket?

Please bring either a printed copy of your ticket OR a digital ticket displayed on a mobile device (cell phone or tablet).

Does my event ticket provide admission to the Museum?

Yes, your event ticket will provide access to all Museum exhibits, including "America at the Crossroads."
