ACIDO:Since 1948, ACIDO has been the official voice of Industrial Design in Ontario. Industrial Designers shape our world through products, services, and experiences. ACIDO is proud to be the home of this community. Since 1984 we’ve carried a mandate from the Government of Ontario to support the objectives of the profession and qualify its practitioners. Today we have vastly more powerful tools and deeply insightful methods at our fingertips, allowing Industrial Designers to inform the innovation process as never before. As observers of user needs and identifiers of market expectations, we have a vital role to play in meeting challenges of the future. ACIDO brings Industrial Designers together to build an understanding of emerging and established best practices in our rapidly evolving field. Creatives take the stage to walk us through their recent work in our Meet Your Maker speaker series hosted by ACIDO (Association of Chartered Industrial Designers of Ontario) and SEGD (Society for Experiential Graphic Design). Gareth Brennan, President & Founder | Eventscape Inc. 
Gareth started Eventscape as a young entrepreneur with a vision. Eventscape is now a globally recognized award winning Canadian success story with over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing, employing over 150 people. Under Gareth's leadership, Eventscape is recognized by design peers as a company of innovators, whose projects have won over 130 major industry awards to date, including Store of the Year in 2004, 2006 and 2012, and AIA Excellence in Interior Architecture in 2005 and 2007. Eventscape projects have been featured in over 250 major design publications around the world including Frame, Interior Design, Metropolis, Azure and Architectural Record. In 2009, Gareth was awarded the Canadian CEO of the Year for the best design strategy at the annual Design Exchange Awards. Out of this creative environment Gareth and his team takes risks, utilizing new materials and technologies, providing creative custom solutions for top architects and designers worldwide. Cam Wykes, President | Jacknife Inc.
Cam is a communications industry leader with 25+ years of professional experience – with 22 exclusively in digital engagement. His reputation for thought leadership spans three award-winning digital agencies that he founded and built from the ground up, with each of those firms being acquired and integrated into traditional advertising agencies. Cam founded digital agencies Mighty Digital and PUSH Interactive. His third digital shop, BabyRobot, was part of KBS+ Canada. At KBS+ Cam also wore the Chief Invention Officer hat and was President of their social division, Attention Partners. After a brief stint as Chief Experience Officer at PwC's Digital Accelerator & Experience Centre, Cam joined design engagement company Jacknife, as President earlier this year.
 
Paddy Harrington, Founder | Frontier Magazine/Studio/Ventures
Paddy has over 10 years experience in branding, strategy and design. He has degrees in literature and architecture and has worked in research, architecture, advertising, and design. His clients have included The New York Jets and Giants, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Unilever, the Holy City of Mecca, Li-Ning, and the Fogo Island Inn in Newfoundland. He is an award winning writer and filmmaker and has spoken at several design conferences as well as at Brown, Harvard, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. Paddy was formerly the SVP Design Innovation and Digital Creative Director at Indigo Books and, prior to that, Executive Creative Director at Bruce Mau Design.
