Taught by skilled instructors working the field of criminal investigations, this course will provide an intermediate level overview of the skills required to properly work a death scene investigation. The format will develop confidence in the investigator and hone valuable skills. After competing this course the investigator will have the ability to better; understand the legal restriction of search and seizure, document a scene, locate and collect evidence, properly distinguish differing manners of death, better understand wound and injury interpretation, understand the dynamics of a child death, conduct witness interviews, interrogate suspects, and properly complete reports and prepare for courtroom testimony.
Included in this course will be several post-mortem examination photographs and video segments – as well as injury, death, and homicide scenes through photos and video of actual cases. This course is very graphic and intense.
**Every participant will receive a course workbook, presentation slides (excluding photographs) on a USB flash drive, handouts, other material, and certificates.

A full refund will be given up to 45 days prior to the event, if less than 45 days prior to start of the event, credit will be given toward this - or other course in the future with one year.

If your agency would like to purchase an all-inclusive package of hotel and meal options in advance, contact the organizer of the event and work through those details. This can be a nice option because participants will receive a packet at check in with all meal vouchers and options for some of the best dinning in the area, all at what will be less expensive than individual purchases. Is the training held within walking distance of any hotel?
Maybe. Training will be held about one mile from area hotels which are all located near each other. However, for those without a vejicle - daily transportation will be provided to and from the training location.
What is the nearest Airport
The nearest airport is Lambert Field in St. Louis Missouri. We have made arrangments with a transport company to provide round trip transportation from airport to training site and back to airport, which is about 80 miles, for $125. This is less than car rental and daily transportation to training from hotel will be proviced if needed.
