<p>Medications are one of the most critical health care technologies for improving longevity and quality of life. Unfortunately, prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and dietary supplements are a double-edged sword. Medication use can also result in problems such as side effects, drug interactions, and other undesired outcomes. In addition, misuse of illicit drugs is a persistent problem for our society leading to substantial harm. Fortunately, many of these medication-related problems are predictable and preventable. This workshop will have breakout sessions, including a case study for health profession students and a Q&A for other attendees, presented by Cynthia Warriner and Patricia Slattum.</p><p>* Sponsored by Bay Rivers Telehealth Alliance, Rappahannock AHEC, and Rappahannock Community College</p>
