Hailing outta Oakland, California, The Prototype consists of 4 former high school friends reuniting over a decade later for their newest musical endeavor. Band members Dred Scott (vocals), Andrew Ramos (guitar), Josh Ramos (bass), and Kyle Valenzuela (drums) pull influences from across the soul, funk and blues spectrum including artists like Earth Wind and Fire, James Brown, The Roots, Tedeschi Trucks, Parliament, and many more, to pay tribute to the sounds that shaped them.
