McMansion Hell: LIVE!

YOP is a network of individuals and organizations that provide opportunities for emerging professionals, promotes preservation as a positive agent for change, and aims to educate, inspire and motivate young Ohioans to preserve their built heritage.The Young Ohio Preservationists, an affiliate of Heritage Ohio, achieves this through coordinating hands-on preservation workshops, field trips, networking, and more for people interested in preservation and Ohio history.

The Young Ohio Preservationists are pleased to present McMansion Hell: LIVE featuring speaker Kate Wagner on Tuesday, October 17. Kate Wagner is well-known for "McMansion Hell", which is a bi-weekly blog that aims to educate the masses about architectural concepts, urban planning, environmentalism and history by making examples out of the places we love to hate the most. Since its launch in July 2016, the blog has been featured in a wide range of publications, including the Huffington Post, Slate, Business Insider and Paper Magazine. Wagner has also given a TEDx Talk and has 20k+ social media followers. 
During McMansion Hell: LIVE, blogger Kate Wagner will discuss merits of good design, contemporary architecture, and answer crowd questions. Attendees have the opportunity to submit photos in advance of McMansion Hell: LIVE (email yop@heritageohio.org by September 30) and win advance prizes. The best photo submitted will be selected by Kate Wagner and will be featured on a promotional postcard for the event.
Proceeds of this event benefit Heritage Ohio’s Save Ohio’s Treasures program, which aims to provide a funding bridge to make preservation of threatened or neglected historic properties a reality. Save Ohio’s Treasures is a revolving loan fund that will provide financial opportunities for historic property owners.
Tickets are available for $25 General Admission or $50 for VIP. VIP ticket holders will have premiere reserved seating, two drink tickets, and receive a limited edition McMansion Hell postcards signed by Kate Wagner. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $35 General Admission or $75 VIP. Space is limited, so get your tickets today!
This unique evening will overlap with the annual Heritage Ohio conference.
