As an Employee Benefits Consultant at The Standard, Mike helps employers design and implement group insurance plans that meet their needs and improve productivity. Mike specializes in life, disability, dental, vision, and worksite benefit insurance, as well as absence management and workplace possibilities solutions.

With over 13 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mike is passionate about providing quality service and education to clients, and constantly seeks new opportunities to learn and grow in the insurance field. He is a leader in providing of financial protection and well-being solutions.

When not working Mike spends quality time with his wife, Ashley, and their three children, Charlotte, Peyton and Owen.

Christy Showalter, JD, MBA, SVP, Senior Employee Benefits Compliance Officer, McGriff Insurance

Christy joined McGriff in 2013 and partners with internal advisors as well as clients to assist in all areas of human resources, including regulatory compliance, policy development, training and benefits administration. Christy has over 25 years of progressive experience in human resources and employee benefits with both private and public employers. Her expertise includes compliance with federal and multi-state legislation such as the ACA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA and ERISA.

Christy earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where she ranked first in her class

Stephanie Raborn, JD, AVP, Employee Benefits Compliance Officer, McGriff Insurance:

Stephanie Raborn has worked in the employee benefits industry in various capacities since 2014, and during this time has worked with HR professionals to resolve compliance concerns, manage renewals and open enrollment, and respond to a shifting regulatory landscape. She briefly left the insurance industry to attend law school at Wake Forest University in 2018 and joined McGriff as a Compliance Officer following graduation in 2021.

Lucy Henry is a seasoned professional passionate about fostering personal and professional growth. As Vice President of Business Development at First Sun EAP Alliance Inc,, Lucy brings over two decades of experience to her role. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 1998 and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) since 2001, Lucy has dedicated her career to supporting individuals in reaching their full potential. She served as President of EAPA from 2014-2016 and remains active in the NC EAPA chapter.

Driven by a love for the outdoors, Lucy finds inspiration in activities such as hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Her adventurous spirit extends beyond the workplace, reflecting a commitment to holistic well-being and work-life balance.

Complementing her professional endeavors, Lucy shares her home with two beloved four-legged companions, Mattie, a wise 13-year-old Bassett, and Cacky, a spirited 6-year-old miniature AussieDoodle. Their presence adds warmth and joy to Lucy's life, mirroring her belief in the interconnectedness of personal and professional fulfillment.

Lucy is known for her collaborative approach and enjoys working closely with Human Resources and organizations to create tailored solutions that empower employees. Her dedication to fostering a supportive and thriving workplace underscores her commitment to making a positive impact on both individuals and the organizations she serves.
