Food Preservation Workshop: Pickle Basics.

We will be learning the various types of pickled products, their ingredients, and methods of preparation. Canning is an important, safe method of food preservation. The canning process involves placing food in jars and heating them to a temperature that destroys organisms that could be a health hazard or cause food to spoil. Participants will be engaged in hands-on activities using current USDA recommended techniques for preserving foods for home use. Persons with or without experience are encouraged to attend the workshop.

Participants are encouraged to bring a snack/lunch and wear closed-toe shoes.

To receive a refund, workshop registration must be canceled by the participant at least 7 days in advance of the scheduled workshop.

Clemson Extension reserves the right to cancel if a minimum enrollment of 5 is not met. If enrollment goals are not met, a workshop will be canceled up to three days before the scheduled date.

In the event of a cancellation, a full refund minus fees is granted.
