About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

Grab your binoculars and a bird-loving (or curious!) family/chosen family member for a celebration of migration and family on Sunday, May 11 at 10:00am. We will be meeting in the North Parking Lot at Discovery Park Road & Texas Way. Metro Bus 33 has stop at the parking lot entrance.

In celebrating World Migratory Bird Day (observed on May 10), we are also honoring local immigrant rights and advocacy groups. Join us by donating and/or taking actions with:

We invite you to join us in queering “Mother’s Day” by acknowledging and celebrating the diverse ways that we experience identity, family, and familial love – please feel free to bring a parent or anyone special in your life who offers care and support.

The trails on the walk are well maintained but may be narrow and hilly at times and will take us through forest and open meadows. We’ll be on the lookout for warblers, Cedar Waxwings, Pileated Woodpeckers, Anna's and Rufous Hummingbirds, and maybe even a Western Tanager.

Please be prepared for the weather and we suggest bringing snacks and/or water. There are restroom facilities at our meeting point.

This outing is limited to 30 people, and we may break into smaller groups. We also require that all participants follow our code of conduct.

Please reach out to feministbirdclubseattle@gmail.com if you have any questions.
