May 25th Day of Reflection and Connection

Come join us for a day of self-discovery and community at the Sterling Street Sanctuary and Nature Reserve. This event is all about taking a moment to reflect on the events of May 25, 2020 and how our lives have been affected since then.
When George Floyd was murdered many people were 'activated' and lives were changed. Four years later we continue to see real change in our own lives and communities. May 25, 2024 is a chance for us to gather together with like-minded people and reflect and connect on what we've done, where we've been and where we are going.
The day will begin with spoken word artist VersatilePoetiq centering us and will conclude with a community bonfire.
Participants will have a chance to walk the labyrinth alone, with a partner or join a guided labyrinth walk with a small group.
We fully believe that the Revolution is in the Pause and on May 25th we invite you to join us in our collective pause.

Kamora’s Cultural Corner provides both a metaphoric and physical space where we learn to use the gifts and privileges of our unique and shared identities. Approaching cultural humility through a Black Queer Afrocentric perspective, we create and navigate Brave Spaces with the intention of building and supporting organic community connections.
