About this event

At Five Points Washington, we value pool safety above all else. No one wants their child to be hurt in the water. That's why we teach you how to enforce proper safety measures and prevent others from drowning through our American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses.

The class will be limited to 10 participants plus an instructor.

Classes will most likely end before the posted times each day, but per the Red Cross we must post the maximum suggested run times. The instructor will keep the participants up to date on times.

Pre-requisites (morning of the re-certification):

Participants must be at least 15 years of age.

Must hold a current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification

Successfully complete a 300-yard continuous swim using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both.

Successfully tread water for 2 minutes using legs only.

Successfully swim 20 yards, retrieve a 10 lb object from a depth of 7-10 ft using a surface dive, then return to starting point swimming with both hands on the object and keeping face at or near the surface of the water.

Failure to complete the pre-requisites will result in removal from the course.

Class Format/Requirements:

Participants will meet on the first day of class to perform the pre-requisite swim tests, and begin the course.

Participants must be in attendance for the entire length of the course.

In order to pass the course, participants must successfully demonstrate all land scenarios and in-water skills and complete both multiple-choice tests with a score of 80% or higher.

No refunds will be given to no show participants or late cancellations. Your slot was held and another participant could have taken the course.

Cost:

Re-Certification Courses are $135.

All certifications are valid for 2 years.
