Abstract: What if your browser was built for the enterprise? Island, the Enterprise Browser, reimagines what the browser can be. By taking in the needs of the enterprise, we are able to have a dramatic, positive impact on every layer of cybersecurity and all other functions of IT, while improving the end user experience and productivity. Leveraging Chromium, the open-source browser that all major browsers are based on, Island provides fine-grained policy control over every facet of a user’s interaction with a web application giving the enterprise limitless visibility, control, and compliance with their most critical applications. Island can serve as the platform for the future of productive and secure work.

Bio: Dr. Stephanie Benoit-Kurtz:

Dr. Stephanie Benoit Kurtz is a technology innovator and leader with a sophisticated grasp on emerging and existing technology and its application to drive business performance improvement and strategy that aligns with organizational objectives. Technical expertise is paralleled by the ability to envision, architect, implement, manage, and support streamlined business and operational processes.

Shawn Surber:

Shawn has more than 25 years experience in IT with 20 of those years in cybersecurity and 15 years as a hands-on security architect for two of the largest non-profit healthcare systems in the country. On his cybersecurity journey, Shawn has worked his way from the perimeter inward. He started with firewalls, web proxies, and VPNs, moved to endpoint management and security, and most recently has joined Island for the express purpose of continuing to move security closer to the end user -- without impeding their work. Shawn lives just outside of Boise, Idaho and enjoys the great outdoors and the great indoors equally. He has two daughters and one granddaughter who are all local so he spends as much of his off time with them as possible.
