About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Kids Club art class is a 1.5 hour art class for kids ages 6 to 18 and up. It takes place from 11:30 to 1:00.

Make a greeting card for May! We will be using pipecleaners to create neat designs on the cards.

When registering for kids club, please register only the child who will be attending. Parents may only accompany their child provided there is extra space but should not register themselves. Due to the size of the studio, parents should not plan on sitting with their child through this class.

Please submit age of child. when filling the form out. If you do not wish your child to be photographed, please tell the teacher directly.

Kids Club drop off and pick up: If your child is dropped off by a parent guardian, we expect that they will be picked up by the same person when the class ends unless you explicitly tell us otherwise, for example: being picked up by another person or if the child/children is permitted to walk home. It is very important to pick up your child on time.

Tacony LAB Class Enrollment and Attendance Policy

Attendance Policy: We understand that traffic and other delays happen, however we request you to be on time to our events. We have a 15 minute grace period. If we are not notified and you are more than 15 minutes late, you may not be permitted to join the class. Our classes are only 90 minutes long and it is difficult to catch up students when they are late.

The Tacony LAB’s classes are unique in Philadelphia: we do not charge tuition or any sort of fees for any of our classes.

Our classes are popular and often have wait-lists. If you enroll in a class, please commit to attending it!

How to enroll in a Tacony LAB class:

• You may enroll IN PERSON at the LAB beginning 3 weeks before a class first meets. Please check the “About” section of the LAB’s Facebook page for open hours or call the LAB at 267-686-7420 to hear the hours.

• You may enroll online using Eventbrite beginning one week before a class first meets (provided there are still spaces) by visiting our Eventbrite page: www.eventbrite.com/o/the-tacony-lab-community-arts-center-1…

If you enroll ahead of time and do not attend the first class, you will be removed from the roster and your place will be offered to another student.

If you need to miss subsequent classes or decide you no longer wish to attend, please notify the LAB by phone call or email ahead of time.

If you do not notify the LAB of absence or withdrawal, you will not be able to enroll in another class until 3 months have passed.

All current COVID-19 policies required by the City, State and CDC must be followed by all attendees.

Organized by

Created by Mural Arts Philadelphia with the support of Councilman Mike Driscoll, The Tacony LAB Community Arts Center brings the neighborhood and the arts together to create a unique hub for learning, creativity, and community engagement in Lower Northeast Philadelphia.

The Tacony Lab Community Art Center’s classes are free and unique! Help us keep them that way! Due to the increasing demand for our classes, we want to remind everyone of our class and attendance policies.

Attendance Policy:

We understand that traffic and other delays happen, however we request you to be on time to our events. We have a 15 minute grace period. If we are not notified and you are more than 15 minutes late, you may not be permitted to join the class. Our classes are only 2 hours long and it is difficult to catch up students when they are late.

No Show Policy:

If you are registered for a class, do not show up and fail to communicate with us at least 2 hours before the class begins, you will not be allowed to register for classes for the next three months. Many of our classes have waitlists and if you do not show up, it deprives someone else of the opportunity to take the class. You will be informed if this takes place and will not be allowed to register until three months has passed. We understand that things come up, but please be courteous to our instructors and other community members and let us know in enough time to bring in someone from the waitlist.

Because of the popularity of our classes, some of them are repeated, especially if there was a large waitlist for a class. If you have taken a class before, we ask that you give everyone a fair opportunity and not register until the class occurs without a waitlist. If you wish to take a popular class more than once, please talk to us about it first.
