About this event

At this Special Interest Group (SIG) event, we will be introducing our new SIG Chair, Meurig Gallagher, and there will be a talk from MathWorks.

In his talk, Meurig will highlight how he uses MATLAB in his research at the interface of mathematical modelling and healthcare. He will focus on two key packages: NEAREST – a set of Open Source algorithms for numerical simulation of fluid dynamics on the microscale; and FAST – a software package for automatically detecting and tracking sperm tail beats from microscopy videos. Each of these applications have MATLAB at their core and allow for some fun and interesting discoveries!

AI with MATLAB by MathWorks

MATLAB is used by Engineers and Scientists to build entire systems that rely on AI. You can use MATLAB for automating workflows when preparing data and for training models in engineering centric domains of Computer Vision, Signals, Audio, Text, Controls, Radar and Audio. Then use simulation & testing to help explain and validate your models, before deploying to embedded hardware or integrating to cloud-based software systems.

In this session you will learn how to get started with AI techniques to build models from your datasets. It will cover

• AI code in 8 lines

• The AI workflow In MATLAB

• How to ramp-up
