Four levels of math to choose from!

  • Bean Counting - Campers use real beans to develop skills in counting, place value and naming numbers. Princess KrisTen and Grouper, the regrouper, guide children through the essential process of addition and subtraction and make it fun! (usually rising 2nd graders)
  • Multiplication Matters - Children develop a rock-solid conceptual base for multiplication while they learn multiplication facts, the roots from which much of the rest of math grows. No flash cards will be used but campers are given strategies like "thumbs up" to remember the facts! (usually rising 3rd graders)
  • M athTree Roots - Fractions and division are focus of group instruction for this camp, while individually, campers begin their climb up the MathTree, our skill system that customizes to the camper's pursuit of math skills. (usually rising 4th graders)
  • M athTree Roots-to-Leaves - Campers will enrich their understanding of number theory with topics such as odds and even and prime numbers while also discovering the underlying structures of math. Individually, they will refresh, sharpen and extend their math skills as they climb the MathTree using our skills system. (usually rising 5th - 8th graders)
  • A lgebra Appetizers - This camp is designed especially for campers who will are enrolled in a high school level Algebra 1 course for the coming school year. Campers learn the principles for solving equations and graphing. Individually, campers prepare for algebra by extending their base of math skills using the MathTree® skill system. Some campers advance to exponents, order of operations, integers, radicals, absolute value, and complex fractions.
