This Math Cafe Event is for students in grades 3-4.
A Math Cafe Event helps students develop the ability to think on their feet, as well as build intellectual agility. Students have to reason more deeply as they grapple with the complexities of solving logic and math problems.
A Math Cafe Event reinforces knowledge of mathematical content and skills for increased understanding and retention through thoughtful discussion of math issues, building mathematical vocabulary and usage through authentic discussions. Students identify as "mathematicians" as academic curiosity and interests increase.
A Math Cafe Event promotes attentive and respectful listening. Students continue to learn how to respond respectfully to diverse thinking. Scholars also develop their voices and the ability to share ideas with others with a surge in students' confidence.
A Math Cafe Event positions each learner to be heard and valued, and that he or she learns mathematics and solving problems through working with others.
The Math Cafe Event is facilitated by a certified mathematics teacher who loves teaching, learning, and doing math. Food and beverages will be available during the event.
