Earn the AIA Materials Certificate and 4 LU|HSW credits!

Material selection is a core service provided by architects, but that process is far from simple. The Materials Certificate Program untangles the complexities of that process in five essential courses. The key? Materials transparency. Materials transparency refers to manufacturers disclosing the environmental, health, and social impacts of their products. When you know everything you can about the materials you use, you’re able to make the best product decisions for projects, people, and the environment.Join the AIA Middle TN Committee on the Environment for a four-part continuing education series to achieve the Materials Certification. Participants will join a cohort of peers from across the state to view recorded sessions from AIAU and engage in live discussions with the following experts in a variety of topic areas. Program courses cover different types of impacts and best practices for reducing these impacts from industry-best instructors. The program will start January 21 and runs for four consecutive Fridays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm via Zoom.

*The Materials Certificate program is a five-course series created by AIA and presented by the AIA Middle TN Committee on the Environment. If you missed the first session in the fall, you will have the opportunity to make it up so that you are eligible to receive the certificate.
