One-woman show about a young artist traveling the world to find herself with the sacred and powerful South American drink: yerba mate.
A chaotic, comedic, deeply personal one-woman show about a young artist traveling the world to find herself with the sacred and powerful South American drink: yerba mate.
In a time when Latino voices need to be heard louder than ever, join us for a cultural experience that celebrates the messy, beautiful reality of being a young Latina American immigrant and artist.
Follow an Argentinian-born, Miami-raised, Spanish & Jewish Latina as she travels the world searching for home with the South American plant, yerba mate, to guide her. Through Spanglish humor, music, and mate-fueled chaos, we'll journey from exile to belonging, from Poland to Buenos Aires, from Miami's clubs to the Dalai Lama's doorstep.
Expect: spiritual awakenings, steamy confessions, ancestral reckoning, and lots of laughs.
This performance is 70% English and 30% Spanish :)

Natasha Nua is a multicultural actress, writer, and producer who grew up in her parents’ theater in Buenos Aires before immigrating to Miami. A first-generation graduate of USC’s School of Dramatic Arts, she’s performed Shakespeare in London, produced films at Ari Gold’s Grack Films (including an SXSW premiere exec produced by Francis Ford Coppola), and just starred in her first feature. The Mate Monologues is her debut play so she's freaking out a little, but mostly she can’t wait to share her life story and some Mates with you.
