About this event
Join us to learn more about the National Spectrum Consortium (NSC). NSC brings together government, industry, and academia to accelerate the development of dual-use technologies that expand spectrum access, advance wireless capabilities, and ensure U.S. leadership in the electromagnetic domain. Through collaboration, the NSC fosters cutting-edge research and rapid prototyping to deliver solutions that directly support the Department of Defense and strengthen U.S. competitiveness.
Why Spectrum Innovation Matters
Wireless connectivity is at the heart of modern missions—from enabling secure communications and data sharing to supporting advanced technologies like unmanned systems and AI-enabled platforms. The planned Golden Dome initiative will increase demands on spectrum, adding to the growing competition from both commercial and defense applications.
As global industry rapidly expands its use of spectrum for 5G, satellite communications, and emerging applications, DoD faces new challenges: protecting critical mission systems while embracing innovation.
Driving Mission Advantage Through Innovation
To preserve current wireless systems and enable next-generation capabilities, spectrum innovation is essential. Research is already underway to deliver advanced tools for spectrum coexistence and spectrum sharing, ensuring DoD missions can operate reliably in contested and congested environments.
Case Study: National Spectrum Consortium in Action
Through its collaborative model, NSC has advanced projects focused on dynamic spectrum sharing, AI-enabled spectrum management, and resilient communications. These efforts are shaping how DoD maintains spectrum superiority while unlocking opportunities for industry growth.
About the host: The Mid-Atlantic Tech Bridge
The NavalX Mid-Atlantic Tech Bridge, headquartered in Norfolk, VA - home of the world’s largest Naval Station - is the Hampton Roads based super connector enabling collaboration across boundaries to develop better, faster, and less expensive solutions for our warfighters.
The Mid-Atlantic Tech Bridge’s vision is to serve as an innovation ecosystem between the U.S. Navy and industry, academia, as well as state and local government in the region, to accelerate the development and transition of innovative technologies to the Naval warfighter.
