Dr. Amaya has served on the board of the POMS College of Humanitarian Operations and Crisis Management and is a member of TRB Committees on Urban Freight and Disaster Response, Emergency Evacuations, and Business Continuity. She has contributed to prestigious Operations Management and Transportation journals and received numerous awards and scholarships. Dr. Amaya has also participated in projects sponsored by organizations such as the National Academies of Science, the National Science Foundation, and the United States Agency for International Development.
