Master Class: Essential Oils for Massage Therapists

Essential Oils for Massage Therapists is a one-day master class that provides an education in the safe, effective use of essential oils in massage therapy practice. This class empowers massage therapists to incorporate essential oils in their practice for the benefit of the skin as well as mental and physical well-being. The class includes information and recipes relevant to both blends for use with clients (pain, inflammation, stress relief, etc.) and blends for use by the practitioner (antibacterial soap, natural cleaning products, and more).

The Essential Oils for Massage Therapists class includes:

• an introduction to essential oils
• discussion of blending guidelines and safety precautions
• detailed discussion of six specific essential oils of unique interest to massage therapists for their therapeutic properties
• an introduction to carrier oils
• information on twenty other essential oils of note for addressing client-specific issues such as sciatica/nerve pain, depression/anxiety, pain/inflammation, and sports-related injuries

After initial study of safety, blending guidelines, and relevant essential oils, students will create six different products to use in their practice.

The course offers hands-on experience working with the following oils:

• Lavender
• Sandalwood
• Ravintsara
• Sweet Orange
• Lemongrass
• Helichrysum italicum

At the end of the class, students will take away the individual blends they have created including:

• Stock blend for relaxation/stress relief
• Stock blend for pain/inflammation
• Foaming antibacterial soap
• Antifungal spray
• Hand Sanitizer
• Antibacterial massage table cleaner

Recipes for all of the items created in class are provided as takeaways. In addition, students receive blend information for additional recipes for massage oil for sciatica, foot massage cream, nourishing facial massage cream.
