About this event

CALLING ALL COOKS!! Let’s meet together virtually via Zoom, and prepare a meal together with a live instructor!! This will be a fun time of food and fellowship to get people connected, learn something new, and share a meal together!

Below is the menu and list of ingredients that you will need. You are welcome to substitute items if you have food allergies/dietary restrictions or create your own meal of whatever you like! It would be best to go ahead and prep or portion out these items beforehand to save time.

Menu (see list of items needed below):

*Entree: Shrimp & Grits

*Dessert: Yogurt and Fruit Parfait

*Beverage: Peach Bellini Mocktail

SHRIMP & GRITS

(substitute shrimp for smoked/turkey sausage or another protein if you have seafood allergies).

1 lb jumbo shrimp

8 oz andouille sausage

4 slices thick cut bacon

2-3 tbsp all purpose flour

2-3 tbsp high quality butter

1 cup old fashioned grits

2 cups whole milk

2 cups chicken stock (for grits)

1.5-2 cups smoked gouda cheese

2 cups chicken or seafood stock (for gravy/sauce)

Salt, pepper, garlic, Tony's Creole Seasoning, parsley, fresh lemon juice

1 pinch sugar (optional for grits)

1 small diced onion

2-4 stalks celery diced

1/2 bell pepper diced

1 tbsp Better Than Bouillon Lobster base (or chicken/veggie/garlic bouillon)

1 tbsp garlic paste

lump crab meat (optional)

*Yogurt & Fruit Parfait

4 oz light cream cheese, soften

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup vanilla yogurt

3 cups strawberries, sliced

1 cup small almond cookie (crushed) or granola

1 tbsp almonds/nuts (optional)

*Peach Bellini Mocktail

1/4 cup peach nectar, chilled

3/4 ginger ale, chilled

1/4 cup fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, sliced strawberries)
