JOIN THE PEOPLE'S CLIMATE MOBILIZATION ON APRIL 29

On April 29, people from all over the country will come together for a powerful mobilization to fight back against Trump and Congress’ attacks on our climate, our communities, and our jobs.

A local coalition of labor unions, environmental justice groups, faith organizations, youth groups, and climate activism groups is coming together to send hundreds of people from the Boston area to the People's Climate Mobilization on April 29 in Washington, DC. We’re joining forces because we think this could be a transformative moment for the Massachusetts climate movement. We share a powerful vision: together, we want to build a forceful, justice-centered movement that lifts up the voices and leadership of those most affected by climate change. Our work together is grounded in the Jemez Principles for Democratic Organizing.

Sign up here to buy a bus ticket by clicking the "Tickets" button.

We want to make sure that everyone who wants to travel to DC can do so, regardless of financial need. To buy a ticket for someone else and help make it possible for someone else to go, click the "Tickets" button and select the option that says "Buy a full ticket for someone else."

Can't go to Washington, DC, on April 29? Come to our Boston action instead! Details: https://www.facebook.com/events/114630515717476/

DETAILS FOR PICK-UP/DROP-OFF

Times

  • Our buses will depart around 10:30 PM for Washington D.C. on the evening of Friday, April 28, arriving in Washington D.C around 8:00 AM on Saturday, April 29. The rally itself will run from about 11 AM until about 4 PM. The buses will then depart around 5:00PM, arriving back in Boston around 2:00 AM on Sunday, April 30.
  • Each bus will drop passengers at the New Carrollton Metro stop, and will pick passengers up from that same station. From there, it is an easy Metro ride into DC for the rally. Bus captains will have Metro maps for everyone AND pre-loaded Metro cards. Trust us, this is easier and faster for you (and for the bus drivers!) than navigating RFK Stadium and the accompanying traffic.
  • A separate group is organizing a bus that will leave on Friday morning, drop off near a Metro stop and hotel in Arlington, VA on Friday evening, and then leave again on Sunday morning, arriving back in Boston on Sunday evening. For details, click here.

Locations

  • We will definitely have bus pick-ups and drop-offs at Alewife Station, Park St Station, Worcester State University, First Unitarian Society of Franklin, Braintree Town Hall, Salem State University, and either JP or Brookline. We may add stops in Jamaica Plain and Winchester depending on interest. Please indicate your preferred pick-up / drop-off location on the final registration page.
  • If you are confident that you can fill a bus (55 people), we may be able to add a pick-up or drop-off in your area. Email Emily Kirkland, emily@betterfutureproject.org.
  • Other groups are organizing buses and vans from the Pioneer Valley, the Berkshires, Cape Cod, Concord and other parts of the state -- for details, click here.
