A glimpse inside Freemasonry -  a society with secrets

On Saturday January 7th 2023, Ramsgate Masonic Centre will be throwing open the doors and inviting you to come and take a look inside.For many years, Freemasonry has been largely regarded as a secret society shrouded in an element of mystery, with some of the more extreme conspiracy theories suggesting a nepotistic fraternity who seek to influence the authorities that govern us. Regrettably, Freemasonry has done little to change these perceptions and has perhaps even enjoyed some of the speculation??The reality is of course somewhat different, yes, we have secrets, but these are far from what you may imagine, and we&#x27;d like to invite you to take a look inside our ancient institution and see what actually goes on behind closed doors.
&quot;Free and Accepted Freemasonry is an organisation which has now been officially recognised for the last 305 years, although there are plenty of records that document Freemasonry well before this time. We remain one of this country&#x27;s largest charitable institutions (after the national lottery) and we can boast a veritable &quot;who&#x27;s who&quot; of historic members ranging from Mozart, Isaac Newton, Winston Churchill and Lady Agnes Grove. 

Not many people realise that there are many Women&#x27;s Masonic Lodges up and down the country and you&#x27;ll have the opportunity to have a chat with the Ladies as well as the Gents at our open day in January.&quot;
We are rightly proud of the difference we make within our local community, from giving to local good causes, funding the new Pathology Laboratory at the QEQM Hospital, funding food banks and supplying digital tablets to our hospitals so that isolated patients can communicate with their loved ones.Do come and see us, we&#x27;d love to show you around.
