Czechoslovak Society of  Arts and Sciences (SVU), New York Chapter,is a 501-c-3 nonprofit organization since 1956 promoting Czech and Slovakintellectual history throughlectures, readings,screenings and publications. What do Prague, London, New York, and Tehran have in common? Martin Holub has lived, designed buildings, and enriched lives in all these places. Martin presents an entertaining account of his experiences as an architect and expat in his two books, Martin’s Scribbles I and Martin’s Scribbles II. He also provides a very personal and intimate witness of the world recent history. Sometimes humorous, sometimes shocking, he shares memorable anecdotes and reflections that inform and amuse.Martin’s talk will include reading from his books. Q&amp;A will follow the presentation.He will be happy to sign your copy of the book(s). He also worked in London as a designer for various architectural companies before settling in New York City where he’s been the Principal of Martin Holub Architects since 1971.
