The term "more than the sum of its parts" was invented for a band like Marshall House Project. This Santa Rosa group is tapped in to a magical source which defies simple definition. Guitarist/Vocalist Sam Hamby is one of the more charismatic and talented frontmen we've had the pleasure of hosting. He leads the charge with this driving soul-funk-jazz-blues-rock outfit with one foot rooted in the deep pockets of the past and the other fearlessly exploring the future.
In addition to his guitar playing (which is pretty damn impressive in its own rite), Hamby's voice is one of those all-consuming instruments which instantly transforms any venue into a chamber of sonic healing and uplifting spirituality. His bandmates are right there with him as they tear through inspired originals and spine-tingling covers. Their improvisational telepathy continues to magnify each time making MHP one of Nor Cal’s most underrated jambands.
