Skirt Beef Moussaka was the first thing I made. I found a specialty spice mix, fresh parsley, mascarpone cheese, Parmesan cheese, canned tomatoes, and eggplant in the box. This meal took a little longer to make (and more dishes!) than I thought it would, but the end result was well worth the wait. The last meal was a hearty, flavorful comfort food. I liked how the ground beef, eggplant, and other vegetables went together, and the dressing was just right. Another great thing was that I had a lot of food left over to eat the next day.

Pasta with Italian sausage ragu

The Italian Sausage Ragu Pasta came next. This kit came with linguine pasta, fresh herbs, ricotta cheese, cherry tomatoes, fennel seeds, and pork sausage. It was quick and easy to put together. The steps for making this dish and cooking it were both very easy. I couldn't believe how tasty this dish was with so few ingredients. It was just as good as a bowl of pasta from a restaurant. It was a great weeknight meal.

Last but not least was the Sheet Pan Piri Piri Chicken, which was very easy to make. I didn't have high hopes for this dish when I first read the recipe card. I didn't understand why chicken was being broil, and I thought a dish that easy might be bland. But it surprised me in a good way. There was chicken breast, honey, a sweet potato, Brussels sprouts, shallots, and a tasty piri piri spice mix in the box. To chop and roast the vegetables in different steps took some work, but the end result was delicious. Putting the seasoned chicken and veggies together with the piri piri vinaigrette made the whole dish taste amazing. I ate every single piece of the roasted vegetables all at once because they were so good.

For some steps, though, I had to get out of my comfort zone and use some new cooking skills. I was excited to learn something new along the way, though.

I would suggest Martha Stewart & Marley Spoon to anyone who wants to try new and interesting recipes in the kitchen through a meal kit service. This service is great for foodies who want to try new recipes, learn new skills, and make fancy meals easier to make. It took a few more steps and dishes than I thought it would, but the end result was worth it. And I liked how fresh and high-quality the products were. There wasn't as much individual packaging and plastic waste as I've seen with other kits, which I liked.
