Description: In this 60-minute workshop, student leaders will be exposed to best practices and tools for effectively marketing and promoting their organizations, members and events via social media. Learn tips and tricks from Emily Truax, Assistant Director of Social Media from BU's Public Relations Department.

Objectives: By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Understand how to hone and refine their messaging for maximum impact

  • Have a basic grasp on the social media tools they can use to assist in their promotion and engagement efforts

  • Understand the best practices of using social media on behalf of a brand, group, or organization

  • Create performance-based goals for the year and a plan for when to report on progress

  • Be familiar with the existing resources at Boston University to assist them in marketing their group and events.

As a reminder...

  • Bay State, Deerfield and graduate groups are not required to attend, but may if they would like.
  • Brookline and Beacon groups must attend 1 elective training before March 1, 2019.
  • Commonwealth groups must attend 2 elective trainings before March 1, 2019.
