Explore mark making as a way to deepen and expand your visual language in this mindful, immersive art workshop with artist Hilary Kennett. This one-day session is designed to help you slow down, reconnect with your surroundings, and approach drawing and mark making in a more intuitive, sensory-led way.

Throughout the day, Hilary will guide you through a series of playful and reflective exercises that encourage experimentation using foraged materials, alternative tools, and mindful techniques. Working both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting), you’ll explore how to respond to place using all your senses.

🔹 Mindful Mark Making – Discover alternative ways to create marks using natural and found materials.

🔹 Sensory Exercises – Learn how to respond to environment, texture, sound, and movement to inform your work.

🔹 Creative Exploration – Work through guided activities designed to loosen up your practice and build confidence in experimentation.

🔹 Handmade Sketchbooks – Create your own concertina sketchbooks to take home, along with ideas and approaches to continue developing your visual language.

All materials are provided, and a light lunch is included. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron, as this is a hands-on, exploratory workshop.
