Marching into an Equal Future

SAIS Global Women in Leadership (GWL) is a student-run career club at theJohns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). GWL equips SAIS students with the tools and knowledge they need to excel in their careers and tackle challenges facing women worldwide by hosting a speaker series, leadership workshops, networking events, and an annual conference all of which bring together SAIS students, alumni IR practitioners, policy makers, and business leaders around issues of women’s leadership.

The current global context is witnessing unprecedented political changes. Along with these shifts is a widespread sentiment that gender relations are dynamically altering at this pivotal moment.
The 2018 SAIS Global Women in Leadership Conference, "Marching into an Equal Future aims to make sense of these rapid changes across different sectors like Politics, Peacebuilding and Civil Society. Our keynotes and panelists who are globally renowned experts in their fields shall lead these discussions and help understand equality in this new age and the changing meaning/nature of feminism.

SAIS Women Lead partners the school's faculty, students, alumni, and public and private organizations to raise the political and economic status of communities through the empowerment of women. By fostering scholarship and cross-cultural exchange, SAIS Women Lead raises awareness of gap areas in research and advocacy to create more inclusive, compassionate, and service-oriented societies.
