Mapping Your Business Model Learning Lab

Simplifying the process of starting and building an organization

September 16 - November 16, 2017

Note: Pre-registration for this course is required. Space is limited. Walk-up or late registration is not available.

Do you have an idea for a nonprofit, small business, or project, or are you already in the early years of its launch? How do you get started developing a strategic business model for your organization built with sustainability in mind and begin successfully implementing your strategies?

The Mapping Your Business Model Learning Lab is a 9-week course that introduces the basic concepts of business development and provides a structured way to think about, analyze, and develop a sound business model for your organization. Business models include business, strategic, and sustainability planning components allowing for the development of a business development document. In this series of trainings, you will learn how to identify one core concept and write one business document to start or strengthen your organization or project.

BUILDING BLOCKS LEARNING METHOD

The Learning Lab is divided into three components: Impact (September), Strategy (October), and Action (November). Each component offers a practice-based approach for business education and is designed so that participants learn about the theory of business development while practicing how to implement its steps. The labs are designed to build a participant’s knowledge and skills, from outlining an idea to writing a business model and then implementing a strategy to test the model.

Your nonprofit, business, or project is your coursework, allowing you to apply your learning to building your organization. These labs are fast-paced so each participant must make a commitment to come to the labs ready to work.
