Join the University of Ottawa's Friends of Medecins sans Frontieres (FoMSF) club for a very rewarding afternoon!  

Every year, disasters around the world kill 100,000 and affect or displace 200 million people. Mapping can help change that.Work for the international community by helping us map remote areas of the world on OpenStreetMap (a free, community-developed, editable map of the world supported by the OpenStreetMap non-profit foundation). This collective effort will allow NGOs and other humanitarian aid organizations to locate themselves during their missions and to reach and help the most vulnerable people more easily. Overview of what&#x27;s waiting for you on February the 27th:1) Members of the FoMSF club will be present to help you take your first steps on the &quot;Tasking Manager&quot; website to create an account and learn the basics of mapping (you&#x27;ll see, it&#x27;s very easy!).2) Then, with the help of satellite images, you will be able to start mapping buildings, roads and other elements for international organizations (Red Cross, MSF, USAID, etc.).Don&#x27;t worry too much about making mistakes! After mapping, qualified volunteers will check your maps to make sure they are of high quality. Cet effort collectif permettra aux ONG et autres organisations d&#x27;aide humanitaire de se localiser au cours de leurs missions et d&#x27;atteindre et d&#x27;aider plus facilement les personnes les plus vulnérables.
