Manteca Stake Aaronic Priesthood Camp at Del Valle Regional Park

We are excited to be welcoming all of you and your Young Men to this October’s Campout

When: Friday, October 7 - Saturday, October 8

Where: Hetch Hetchy Group Campground at Del Valle Regional Park

Who: All YM 12-18 / Bishoprics and YM Leadership / Advisors

Transportation: Arranged & provided at the Ward level

Friday, October 7

**IMPORTANT** The main gate to Del Valle Regional Park will close at 7p, so please arrange to arrive before that time. There is NO parking outside the gate except for one designated vehicle for emergency egress. **

Parking will be at Del Valle Marina, and will require 0.8 mile walk to reach the Group Campground. The Stake will arrange to have a bike & trailer to carry large / bulky items, but Wards should help plan equipment accordingly for each person to carry their personal items. The walk in is part of the fun!

3:00 PM – 8:30 PM

• Arrive at Del Valle Marina, carry tents, gear etc to Hetch Hetchy Group Camp (0.8 mile walk)
• Set up camp
• Dinner arranged at Ward level
• PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ARRIVE AT DEL VALLE BEFORE 7P!

8:30 PM - 9:30 PM

• Stake fireside activity / devotional
• Dessert; Stake-provided (s'mores and hot chocolate)

10:00 PM

• Lights out / quiet / curfew

Saturday, October 8th

7:00 AM – 8:00 AM

• Arise, prepare & eat breakfast
• Food to be provided and prepared at Ward level

8:00 AM – 8:30 AM

• Morning devotional as a Stake

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

• Activities :
• Canoeing
• Hatchet & knife sharpening and throwing
• Wayfinding & Compass
• Fly Fishing 101
• Camp Skills
• Knot & paracord tying

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

• Meet back at main area
• Lunch provided by Stake (hot dogs, chips, fruit & soda, granola bars)

1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

• Relay Challenge

2:30 PM – 4:00 PM

• Free time (swin, canoe, fish, hike, etc)

4:00 PM

• Wrap up & closing remarks
• Break camp
• Depart for home, dinner arranged at Ward level

Please note some additional information below:

Wards are responsible for coordinating transportation to and from the event. Please arrive before 7pm as the gates to Del Valle will be closed. We will have one designated vehicle left outside the gate with one pass for emergency purposes.

Please bring GMRS / FRS handheld radios if possible as cell phone service is not available. We will use channel 15 for camp communication.

Please bring your own tent, sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress, camp chair etc. Wards to coordinate equipment needs for each youth, keeping in mind the 0.8 mile walk to and from Hetch Hetchy from the parking lot. Please feel free to bring your own fishing equipment. 16+ will need to buy a $5 license to fish at the marina store.

Fires in designated areas will be allowed, and camping stoves are also currently permitted. However all wood and materials will need to be packed in / out.
