Event description

Description

Join the Salmonberry Trail Foundation and Washington County Visitors Association as we celebrate the exciting improvements to the Manning Trailhead near Banks, Oregon. The Manning Trailhead provides access to both the future Salmonberry Trail and the long-established Banks-Vernonia State Trail. Improvements to the trailhead include safety enhancements, tripling capacity to accommodate more than 30 vehicles and installing permanent restroom facilities.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. in the newly expanded and upgraded parking lot at the trailhead site. The public is then invited to participate in a free seven-mile guided bicycle ride from the Manning Trailhead to the Buxton Trailhead and back. This event is family friendly and people of all abilities are encouraged to attend. Following the bike ride, riders are invited to continue celebrations at the new Hop Cycle Brewing, a local brewery and eatery in downtown Banks.

Note: If you would like to participate in the guided bicycle ride to Buxton, please bring your own bicycle. If needed, Banks Bicycle Repair & Rental offers bicycle rentals 3 miles away right next to the Banks Trailhead. Please call ahead to ensure they have rentals available.
