About this event

Come join us as we explore Lamar Lake, Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic coast during Miami's much vaunted manatee season. Between November and April, these large peaceful sea mammals migrate into Biscayne Bay making it highly likely to spot them while riding paddleboards and kayaks in the bay and it's surrounding waters.

Currents and wind permitting we can also paddle along the Atlantic Coast or paddle into the bay to see the picturesque Miami skyline -- the perfect mix of the city's urban and natural environments.

Each guided tour is lead by an experienced paddle expert, is up to two hours long and includes rental of a kayak or standup paddle board, paddles and safety equipment.

Frequently asked questions

Can we bring children to the paddle tour?

Absolutely! Children under 10 are welcome when accompanied by an adult in a double/tandem kayak. Kids 10 and older may be able to ride their own kayak or paddle board at the discretion of the guide. All paddlers under age 18 must have their activity waiver signed by an adult guardian.

Are manatee sightings guaranteed?

No. While there are a lot of manatee sightings every day during Miami's manatee season (Nov-Apr), nobody knows for sure when and where a herd will gather. Therefore, as would be the case on a safari or other animal sightseeing excursion, your guide can lead you to spots were they are likely to be.

What should I wear?

Bring sturdy waterproof footwear (we would recommend aqua socks, Crocs or similar shoes, but sandals you don't mind getting wet are acceptable). Bring straps for any glasses you will be wearing and dress for watersports. Also be sure to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated and to wear sunscreen.
