Risk in child care businesses can range from accidents, injuries, and illnesses to legal liability. Risks are unexpected or unplanned events that can result in danger, harm or loss. Risk management (also called business continuity) is an intentional planning process that focuses on protecting your business.


May 23rd, 30th, June 6th and 13th | Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

MANAGING THE RISK IN YOUR CHILD CARE BUSINESS

In this 4-week course, here are a few questions that we can review:

  • Is your business protected?
  • Are you aware of the risk in your home/center?
  • Do you have a written plan for emergencies?
  • Do you know that the way you register your business can impact your liability?


About the Instructor:

Rose Munoz, Trainer/Coach/Speaker

Rose Munoz, a bilingual professional early childhood trainer/coach, holds a Master of Arts degree in Integrating the Arts into Curriculum. Her Baccalaureate of Science degree combines both the fields of Psychology and Social Work. Rose’s experience range from Teacher Aid to Director of Child Care Facilities.

She maintains an ongoing career as a Professional Development Specialist, adjunct faculty at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley, and Instructor in the Early Childhood field as a consultant, coach, and trainer in the Kansas City Area. Her list of specializations includes offering Child Development Associate (CDA) training to Spanish and English participants. She has also trained and promoted the Francis Institute’s curricula: Strength Base Coaching® and Development Your Family Child Care Business™ and helped with the collaboration of Developing Your Child Care Business online.

In addition, Rose has served on the Missouri Accreditation, Mid-America AEYC, Missouri AEYC, and Foster Grandparent boards. Her commitment to extending quality care to children has led her to receive extensive training in the curriculum (Creative Curriculum and Highscope) as well as Denver Developmental Screening Tests (Denver III), ASQ-3, ASQSE, Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), trained in Program Administration Scale (PAS), Environmental Rating Scales from Family Child Care, Infant/Toddler, Early Childhood, and School-Age assessments. She is a CDA Council Professional Development Specialist (PD), and Command Spanish Instructor, and has experience working with the NAEYC validating authority, NAFCC Observer, and HeadStart Programs. Rose has had experience working with School-Age through the development and support systems of the Youth Development Credential (YDC).

She is a national speaker for both live and online training and has trained nationally and internationally.
