Managing Classroom Behaviors:  This session is aimed to help improve overall instructional and behavioral management skills through planning, implementing, and maintaining effective classroom practices. Such practices provide a framework for order and organization in classrooms and provide opportunities for students to begin to manage their own learning opportunities. Additional goals are to improve student task engagement, reduce inappropriate and disruptive student behavior, promote student responsibility for academic work and behavior, and improve student academic achievement.
About the instructor:
Kyla Krengel is currently serving as the Director of Social and Emotional Learning with Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. She has worked to bring SEL supports to administrators, teachers, and students through her work in the district as a classroom teacher, Classroom and Organization Management Program Trainer, Olweus Bullying Prevention Trainer, McGrath Bullying and Harassment Trainer, Consulting Teacher, and Assistant Principal. In addition to her work to forward SEL within the district, Kyla also serves as co-chair of the Alignment Nashville Behavioral Health Committee and is serving on a state-wide committee with the TN Department of Education to craft Social and Personal Competencies for TN educators.
