This 3-part training series is for DPH managers and supervisors with at least 1 direct report. Please use your DPH email to register.

All training sessions will be 90 minutes and held online via Microsoft Teams. You will receive an email reminder 24-48 hours prior to our session with the link.

  • Explore: self-awareness, equity mindsets required to manage at DPH, problem solving resources & how to communicate effectively with teams to support manager and employee well-being via training and practice with tools.
  • Connect with other managers/supervisors
Part 1: Explore Core Management Responsibilities
Differentiate between leader / manager / supervisor responsibility
Develop self management strategies for the impact of your decisions and responsibility
Optimizing your role as a manager/supervisor
Part 2: Checking Power & Bias
Practice spotting bias & barriers
Grow awareness of resources for support when things don’t go as expected
Part 3: Communicating with Your Team of Individuals
Practice effective listening and communication strategies applicable to a variety of contexts via peer discussion to provide individualized attention

This event is created and hosted by the DPH HR Learning and Organizational Development team for current DPH employees and contractors.  For virtual workshops, attendees will be emailed 24- 48 hours ahead of the event via their sfdph email address with the link to the workshop. Please add the date to your calendar after registering and await the email link.

Minimum Attendance: For virtual trainings, a minimum of 5 attendees are required, please RSVP by responding to the email invitation so the organizers have an accurate attendee list. Events with fewer than five attendees will be postponed.
